Also, it is shown that normal children are changed like the rest on the island merely by making eye contact with them. It is implied that the long list of atrocities and horrors brought upon children by the fighting and apathy of adults has caused the children of the island to take matters into their own hands. They later learn the children are capable of violence and have murdered just about every adult on the island they are now forced to consider killing the children in self-defense. Throughout their stay, they witness the children behaving strangely. Tom and Evelyn, who are taking a vacation before Evelyn gives birth to their third child, arrive on an island where they encounter grim-faced, silent children who seem to be the island’s entire population.
After a supposed mishap on an icy pond with Henry’s sister Connie (Quinn Culkin), Mark tries to reveal Henry’s crimes before it’s too late. However, the extent of Henry’s depravity becomes clear when Mark sees him kill a neighbor’s dog and intentionally create a traffic pileup on the highway. Mark becomes acquainted with his cousin Henry (Macaulay Culkin).
Mark (Elijah Wood), a young boy who loses his mother, must stay with his extended family while his father is away on business. In the classic grindhouse feature ‘Who Can Kill a Child’, a dude mows down a field of the little bastards using a machinegun. I will however warn you, that this list of killer kid themed movies does indeed feature certain films where the children wind up on the business end of one weapon or two. That being said, I don’t have as many problems when the kids themselves do the murdering – it’s unnerving to be sure, but it’s not as bad as watching them get taken out onscreen. Either way, kids + violence = big problems for this guy. It may be the fact that I watched Pet Sematary or Lord of The Flies when I was way too young, or maybe I’m just a good person and you’re all bloodthirsty awful maniacs. Now – as soon as the kid hits around 10 or so years old, I don’t care, it’s just the cute little ones that hit me – older kids, get the hell out. Even before I had children myself, growing up I was always traumatized when an infant or child was killed in a movie – I couldn’t handle it and I still have issues with that kind of content today. I’ve always had a problem watching little kids either do terrible things or have terrible things done to them on film. In anticipation of two upcoming films dealing with murder-happy children: Cooties and The Boy, I decided to rank the top 10 most infamous films themed around killer kids.
